A few tell me I shouldn’t say she’s a ‘Daddy’s Girl’ due to the word’s distorted visions. Most don’t realize that developmentally disabled adults are our kids for life. We commit to them, and our entire life is wrapped around them – and for this reason, Daddy stepped in and made it happen – even with Cancer! The first batch of oils is being shipped today with labels wrapped – it’s so beautiful!
Some have said I should refer to myself as ‘Dad’ – and I am to Sydney – her Bonus Dad.
But for Genevieve, this is our life; Mom and I are committed to staying healthy and robust, so we can not only allow Genevieve to survive but give her a life in which she can thrive.
Kids with developmental delays like hers – severe autism and epilepsy – often grow up into young adults in families that no longer can handle their behaviors and needs – which I understand. Our family is not one such as this and will push through the most challenging times with Daddy forcing at any means the system to do its job; the Dream Fund plan with Genevieve’s Dream will end that and allow funding for all her needs without red tape stopping her from gaining medical, dental, and other therapies and treatments she needs.
